I'm not up on my modern stuff so it is worth asking on a Seat or related forum incase it is a common issue.
If it has started after the work has been done I'd be checking the parts installed and also that no connections have been knocked loose. It isn't unknown for a new part to be faulty.

Re: What does the 'M' in MDi stand for?
Now that is a very good question. The Prima / MDI / 500 series was indeed a diesel-ised version of the O series developed by Perkins.
I think it could possibly be M series Diesel MDi, (as the M series petrol was also in development at that time).

Throttle Position Sensor Wiring problems?
There are an increasing number of throttle position sensor problems being reported. The throttle position sensor is rather expensive but fear not the problem is almost always the wiring for the sensor rather than the sensor itself. The symptoms usually show themselves as an unresponsive throttle tha...

Re: Rover 200SD
Thanks for the reply. I will take a look at that pipe. Anyway that I can check if the actuator is working? 2 ways really. 1. Fit a boost gauge (if only temporaily). That'll tell you whether it is making boost and what level and is it being regulated properly. 2. Disconnect the actuator pipe and att...

Re: Rover 200SD
The valve you mention is the turbo actuator and is activated by boost pressure from the turbo. It is uncommon to see it move when revved and the engine isn't under load. The valve will open when full boost is achieved and this isn't generally when the engine isn't under load. So what you are seeing ...

Re: Glow plug relay
The glow plug relay should look like a normal black box relay, but have to normal terminals on it and two huge ones (to carry the large currents needed by the glow plugs) Are you sure you have removed the right relay? It sounds like you've removed a different one. The cables to the large terminals a...

Re: hi from belgium!
To be honest I don't know. What I do know however is that originally peirburgh didn't do a MAF that was suitable for our cars. However rover-ron made a electronic box of tricks (called a MAFAM) which altered the signal to make it suitable. Pierburgh since released a suitable MAF as a direct replacem...

Re: hi from belgium!
I'm not sure to be honest. They'll upload a fairly generic remap to your ECU (thats all you can do without seeing the customers car). I'm not sure if it was a reidy one or not. I've not heard any horror stories though. For my ECU stuff I'll use Dakta from mg-rover.org as I regard him as a friend. I'...

Re: hi from belgium!
It all depends on what mods you have as to what is the next best "bang-for-your-buck" mod. The best usual mods for the 25/zr/zs/45 are injectors from a 200/400/600 di, up the boost to 19psi, and a decat and performance backbox. That little lot will give you 140 -ish bhp, maybe a few more. ...

Re: hi from belgium!
Being blunt the turbo outlet pipe doesn't make a lot of difference. It looks pretty, and it won't hurt, but it doesn't make a huge power difference. Some people have uncrushed their original pipes using various means to get a better shape. You could even use flexible exhaust pipe instead if you want...
